Toby Thomas the tank engine James the red train engine in a Mess

Thomas the tank engine Toby and Henrietta the old rail carriage were enjoying their new job on the Island of Sodor railway tracks, but they did look old fashioned and really needed some new paintwork doing.

Most days at the Elsbridge station Thomas & friends James the red train engine was extremely bad-mannered and made fun of Toby the tram and Henrietta when ever he saw them. Yucky, what untidiness and dirty old objects, he would say to them.

At last Toby the tram engine lost patience, James the tank engine he asked, why are you painted a red color?

I am a big red James the splendid engine he answered ready for any thing and you will never see my paint dirty or in a mess.
O said Toby train tram innocently that's why you once needed boot lacers to be ready I suppose!

James the train engine went bright cherry-red redder than ever and snorted off down the tracks, It was such an insult to be reminded of the time a boot lacer had been used for repairing a hold in his passenger railway coaches.

At the end of the railway line-track Thomas & friends James the tank engine left his express coaches and got ready for his next train-transportation journey, it was a slow long distance freight shipment stopping at every railroad station goods yard to pick up and set down cargo cars.

Thomas the tank engine James the splendid engine hated slow freight trains grimy giggling Troublesome Trucks for dirty sidings.

He starting his voyage with only a small amount of wagons, then James the red train engine picked up more and more boxcars at each one of the Thomas station sidings until he had a heavy long train of goods wagons.

At first the Troublesome Truck freight cars behaved very well, but James the red train engine bumped and bashed them so crossly they were determined to get back at him.

Presently they approached the top of Gordon's hill, the heavy freight trains halt here to set the brakes.

Thomas and friend James and the Troublesome Trucks had had a railway accident before furthermore he should have remembered that day.

Wait James the tank engine wait said his fireman and driver, but James the train engine wouldn't stop he was too busy thinking what he was going to say to Thomas & friends Toby train and Henrietta when they next met them.

The Sodor Troublesome freight cars chance had come, ha ray they laugh and bagging the buffers, this pushed him down big Gordon hill going fast just like a rollercoaster ride.


On and on shouted the cars!
I've go to stop whimpered the out of control steam locomotive James train to his driver.

He steamed through the Sodor Maron station at full speed, now a big disaster lay ahead of them.

There was a large train crash and some sticky black road tar splash in the air, all over James the tank engine lovely red paintwork.


He had run into two tar tanker-wagons and was coated black from buffers to boiler, now James the tank engine was in a mess, more dirty than injured!

But the tar wagons and some cargo cars were badly broken in bits, all in a mess strewn across the tracks.

Toby and Percy the green train were sent to lend a hand and came to the rescue as quickly as they could.

That's Sodor steam locomotive James train in the siding didn't you know that!

It's Thomas & friends James the red train engine shape said Toby train to his buddy Percy the small engine, but on the Sodor railway the friend of Thomas the tank engine James is a splendid red engine and you never see his super-scarlet paint dirty or in a mess.

Trying to be invisible James the train engine pretended he hadn't heard the duo's joking words.

Quickly Toby and Percy the green train cleared away the unhurt crashed-car wreckage and helped salvage the stuck steam locomotive James tank engine, taking him back home.

At the Sodor main railway yard standing on a flatbed wagon was Sir Topham Hatt he met them all, well done steam tank Percy and Toby the tram engine he called.

Them Sir Topham Hatt looked at steam locomotive James the splendid engine in a mess, fancy letting your cars run away!

You're not fit to be seen James and Percy the small engine you must go to the Sodor wash down center and be cleaned at once.

The Fat Controller decided that Toby the tank engine shall have a new coat of paint, please Sir, can Henrietta the wooden carriage have one too said Toby train.
Certainly Toby tram, o thank you Sir Topham Hatt Henrietta will be pleased.

All Thomas the tank engine and friends James train could do was stand and watch Toby the tram engine as he ran off happily with the good news.
