Train Henry and Gordon the big express engine were lonely when Thomas the train left the yard to run his branchline, they missed him very much.

Now at Knapford station Thomas and friends Gordon and Henry the train had more work to do, they couldn't wait in the old wooden railway shed till it was time and find their passenger commuter coachers at the platform.


Henry and Gordon the tank engine hat to fetch them and they didn't like that.

But at the Sodor Knapford station yard, the old steam express passenger coachers only laughed at big red James & Gordon the tank engine, you're all sluggish and very slack they answered Thomas friends James & Edward the great, in a quiet but most mischievous voice.


That bright spring morning Thomas the tank engine with Annie and Clarabel puffed happily along the rural countryside railway branch-line tracks in the direction of the little village station.

The Fat Controller with the two railway porters were waiting on the Elsbridge station platform for him, Sir Hatt looked down at his gold pocket watch, well done Thomas the train Annie and Clarabel.

Then steam express Gordon and Henry the tank engine were cross all over again, when the Fat Controller told James the red engine he was the one to haul the special wagon circus train big top tent away.


However they soon forgot about the traveling circus animals because in the yard Henry Percy and Gordon the tank engine had plenty of important work to do.

A little latter the Fat Controller returned to the railroad shed, come on Henry the green engine the Island of Sodor Ffarquhar branch-line Thomas and Percy railway tunnel is blocked you must take some repair workmen down the line to investigate the problem.

Henry the green train grumbled away to locate two open trucks to carry the rail track workmen and the heavy tool kits.

The workers and Henry engine looked, but the brick tunnel was rather ghostly and gloomy, no sunlight shone form the other end.

The Island of Sodor railway line workmen took their implements and when inside.

Outside the Ffarquhar Thomas tunnel Henry the green train was waiting for them, the dark shadowy railway subway was extremely gloomy and silent, but not for long there was a loud trumpeting sound echoing out the Thomas train tunnel entrance.

HELP-HELP-HELP shouted the nervous workmen to Henry tank engine and they all suddenly ran out the tunnel into the daylight looking very frightened.

We got our repair tools and started to dig at the huge block, but it noisily grunted and moved one of the track workers said, rubbish said the railway supervisor to his men.

It's not rubbish it's big and alive, we are not going in there again, ok said the line manager, I'll ride in a truck and Henry the train shall push it out.


Wish, said Thomas and his friends Henry the number 3 engine unhappily he was scared.

He hated old haunted railway underground passageways, one sad-day he had been once shut in the mountain tunnel bridge for being afraid of the pouring rain, but this was much worse.


Some thing big and alive was inside the hill railway tunnel beep-beep-beep I don't want to go in said # 3 Henry the train nor do I said his steam engine driver, but we must clear the Ffarquhar railway line tunnel.


O dear o dear Thomas and friends Henry the tank engine called as he slowly rolled forward along the iron tracks into the murky rail tunnel entrance.


Then there was trouble on the tracks, the engine-driver of Henry train engine immediately shut off steam, the big gray block was indeed alive and very strong.

HELP were all going back, cried Henry and large lump begin to start to thrust the track repair train backwards into the bright light.

First Henry then the cargo-truck wagon and last of all a large cross gray elephant came out of the old stone tunnel exit.


The steam locomotive train guard ran to telephone the big top tent for the circus animal keeper.


Well I never did the rail line supervisor cried out, it's an elephant from the Island of Sodor carnival circus Henry driver put on his steam brakes.

The friendly elephant stopped pushing and slowly came towards the rail workers.

The workmen gave the gigantic traveling show elephant some fresh sandwiches and some nice cake snacks, so the big eared gray Goliath forgot he was annoyed and remembered he was really hungry instead.

The elephant drank 3 red buckets of cold water with out stopping and was just about to just drink a further one, when Thomas and friends Henry the green engine cab driver let off some hot boiler steam with a loud hissing sound.


The elephant jumped, Oh cried the big circus elephant and Henry tank engine got covered with a shower of squirting trunk water by mistake, unfortunate Henry train!


The childrens performing circus elephant and his keeper were soon reunited and the rail workmen traveled home happily in the open wagon cars laughing at the wild animal adventure.

But number 3 Henry the train was most upset a giant elephant pushed me, a colossal elephant rammed me he hissed!

Thomas n friends Henry tank engine was sulky all day and his wooden express coachers had an uncomfortable time.

That night in the railway shed round-house Thomas & friends Henry engine told Edward Percy Gordon Thomas the train and the tank engines about it.


Now big blue Gordon and James the red engine felt sorry for Thomas and friends Henry and the elephant but still taunted him.


First the spring rain, then a wooly mammoth elephant, what ever will you be afraid of next said big express Gordon the train engine!

Never mind about the Sodor Island show circus elephant Henry Thomas the tank engine murmured, I think you were brave today and really reliable too.
